Day1

Breakfast, Bob Evans, and the Battle of the Doors

Dan, Janet’s brother, treated us to breakfast this morning at Bob Evans. Classic start to the day. As we were leaving, Janet and I noticed an elderly man with a walker trying to get out through the double doors.

Naturally, we jumped in to help.

Janet went for the first set of doors on the right. I headed for the second set on the left. The poor man just stood there, looking completely bewildered—like he’d been dropped into some kind of low-stakes escape room with two enthusiastic but uncoordinated guides.

Eventually, I switched doors so he could make his way out without needing a map and a team of sherpas.

Apparently, Janet and I are right-brain/left-brain opposites. This could make for an unforgettable road trip… or it means we’re in serious trouble.

We left for the adventure at 9:23 Thursday, June 5, 2025
