A Sprout-Filled Morning

A Sprout-Filled Morning in Blue Earth, Minnesota 🌽🌱

We woke up this morning in Blue Earth, Minnesota, right next to the iconic Jolly Green Giant, and were greeted with a surprisingly charming activity—a Sprout Scavenger Hunt! It starts right at the Jolly Green Giant Visitor Center, which has a great photo op with the giant himself. Inside, there’s a sweet little pretend farm play area for toddlers and preschoolers, and a cute museum filled with Green Giant history and memorabilia—definitely worth a stop if you're in town.

The first lil’ sprout was inside the visitor center, from there, we took off on the hunt to find all the Little Sprouts scattered around the city. Each stop led us through different corners of Blue Earth—from the swimming pool and high school to the airport, baseball field, and even the police station. The Sprout at the airport was the trickiest—hidden away and hard to spot!

We passed the ice cream shop more than once, but after having some serious scoops in the Ice Cream Capital of the World, we managed to hold off this time. Still, the whole hunt was such a fun way to explore the town and snap some silly pictures.

We’re now heading off to visit family in Dodge Center, Minnesota, but this little detour in Blue Earth made for a fun and quirky memory. I’m hoping to turn all our photos into a harvest-themed memory game for school this fall. What a fun way to bring a little travel joy into the library!
