Galena Route 66 CARS

Galena, Kansas: Flamingos, Firetrucks & a Toe-Crushing Mater

Galena was an absolute blast on Route 66! We stumbled upon aliens hanging out with flamingos (because of course we did), cruised through the historic Route 66 sign and the Rainbow Bridge, and found all the iconic spots—Sunflower 66 sign, the old gas station, and even the legendary Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, beside an old Volkswagen van.

We were too late to get an old-tim soda fountain drink from the old pharmacy and caught a glimpse of the charming Ritz movie theater. But things really got wild at Luigi’s Pit Stop, where a rogue Mater went full monster-truck mode, tipping tractors and literally running over Peg’s toe. (She’s fine. Probably.)

Then came the rescue crew: Doc rolled in with the fire trucks, while the local police somehow ended up stuck on a pole. At least we didn’t end up in the Galena County Jail. Just another totally normal day in Galena!
